This page contains few of my Poems
[all are copywrited]

I'm particularly proud of this poem which I wrote long time ago, this poem was published in 'Among the Roses' published by The Poetry Guild in 1997
I Wish I Were There
Did you ever love someone,
But knew he didn't care
Did you ever feel like crying,
But knew it gets you nowhere
Did you ever look into his eyes,
And say a little prayer
Did you ever look into his heart,
And say "God, I wish I were there"
Did you ever see him, when the lites were low
Did you whisper, "God I love him"
But never let him know
Don't fall in love, my friend
You'll be hurt before you're through
One day you're happy
The next you're blue
And so I say, my friend
Don't fall in love
You see, I ought to know
I fell in love with YOU.

As I sit here with my thoughts
Thinking about you
I close my eyes
Then my imagination starts to work
First I see your eyes
Then your nose
Your mouth and finally your hair
Its the most wonderful sight
I have ever seen
As I sit here with my  eyes closed
I study all your features
I often imagine your voice
soft sexy and music to my ears
Then I open my eyes
There's great sadness in my heart
Because the vision of you vanishes
And at that point I realize
I have fallen in love

Days of Togetherness
How are you doing
My ray of light
You're always on my mind
Though not in sight
We're friends in waiting
Hoping for that day
Lovers in the waiting
Is what others say
Both  you and I know
In our hearts what we are
And our days of togetherness
Are not very far
So both patience and faith
Is what must endure
But isn't it  worth it
For love that is pure.

Friendship is such  a precious thing,
I've always found it so.
When distance separates you,
affection does but grow.
In time of stress a friend in need
lends a sympathetic ear,
so that problems never seem so bad
when there's a good friend near.
They will follow one through
thick and thin  and all your sorrows share,
what joy it is to have a friend
to give you love and care.
True friends will never interfere,
but lend a helping hand,
keep secrets, never give advice,
yet on your behalf will stand.
So if you have some staunch true friends,
please show them that you care.
Remember that in this selfish world
true friends are very rare.

I would also like to share with yall how I said goodbye
to my Dad,
Alfred N. Palmer
 May 2, 1939 - July 23, 2000
this is how I said goodbye ....

Sitting here thinking about you,
I here you call my name,
Laurie Ann, Laurie Ann, Laurie Ann

As I turn to see who's calling me
I see no one, only hear your voice.

I glance across the room,
To see if anyone else hears it too.
But no one seems to notice the look on my face.

I miss you so much,
I keep telling you,
But you don't seem to hear me.

Still you're calling out my name, only louder,
As the tears rolled down my face,
I glance around the room,
And see you amongst my family, and friends
The look upon your face says you're peaceful now.

I realized it was time to let you go.
Although I will always love and miss you.

I turn my head to see if anyone notices you.
Then I turn back, and you're gone.

I hear you, so very gently say,
"I love you", "Good- Bye!"
"Bye Daddie", I said . . .
